eNews Update - March 2025

Dear Friends of Resilient Ready,

We wish all our business and non-profit friends well following Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred and particularly look forward to helping businesses in the Northern Rivers region soon with tips, worksheets, resources and lived experience case studies. We have shifted our Business Beyond Disasters program to kick off on 5 May.

Emergency and crisis management expert Tony Pearce and Resilient Ready Founder Renae Hanvin are running training sessions with the Melbourne Metro Water Industry from next week, following the delivery of some well received online training. It's wonderful to work with such an engaged cohort.

Renae is also delivering an emergency management exercise for the City of Casey soon, and facilitating two community group sessions for the local government area to help community groups self-identify challenges aligned to the Climate Resilient Casey Plan. Resilient Ready is supporting groups in Hampton Park and Blind Bight/Warneet with the first session on 27 March.

Our DRF Pilot project is up and running, and plans are afoot for Renae to visit every state and territory with Professor Daniel Aldrich during May-June to talk about the social capital and social infrastructure measurement framework and pilot testing. Are you excited? We are!

We also want to take a moment to extend a warm welcome to Vianne Reyes, our new Resilient Ready program coordinator, who will also be working on the DRF Pilot project.

Fresh episodes of our 'Doing Disasters Differently' podcast are now online. We've been busy talking to experts across the spectrum of emergency management, resilience and disaster recovery, who have been sharing their insights and experiences. Make sure you subscribe so you don't miss any podcasts!
